Stone

A shining beacon breathes
Life into my soul,
Brilliant in the pale moonlight
Not a trinket but a stone

My own forgiving guide
Clearing paths outside the box
A shimmer of courage
A compass for those once lost

But how can such a simple stone
Air thoughts and memories,
I’d never known

Such warmth and beauty
Simple texture and tone
Hint some quality,
Hone truth, its origin unknown

But as I ponder,
Its zeal ignites,
And as I scrutinize,
Its beauty blazes bright

For within us all
Thrives bravery and worth.
The difficulty lies, in falling
Barriers we put forth.
