A Tribute to Tsunami Victims

One sunny day a tsunami seized islands in Asia.
In one sudden instant when everything was calm,
A furious wave wiped out generations of families,
Causing a lifetime of heartbreak.
The mass amounts of water swept away land from under children’s feet
While they played on the beach.
Leaving devastation in its wake.
Those who survived not only lost their homes, but also their loved ones.
As water and mud became one, it was impossible to tell the village from what
Was once calm waters filled with fishing boats and frolicking vacationers.
Tears from heaven and raging water created confusion and fury.
As the death tolls climbed, the world came together.
Tribes in Sri Lanka joined forces to help rather than to fight.

An outpouring of sympathy and help is now on its way
To these once hopeful and strong tribes, people now in single numbers.
Groups such as the Red Cross and our own armed services, come with water, medicines,
And supplies.
They will lend a hand in restoring peace, tranquility and someday happiness
Back to these deserving individuals.
From Hollywood celebrities to high school students, donations of money pour in as high
As the tide that caused sudden catastrophe.
People throughout the world have stopped to take a moment,
And band together through loving contributions.
This natural disaster has pulled communities together,
To help these wounded recover from such a tragedy and begin

To live life again.
