The Beast

The wind was blowing,
the sun was shining,
the children laughing and playing.
people talking, having fun,
swimming, bathing in the sun.

In the distance a beast arose,
with the evil deed it planned.
those poor souls, oblivious,
to the disaster about to occur.

They went about their joyous lives,
not knowing the danger to come.
the beast roared and stood up tall,
30 feet to be exact.

It covered all those happy folk,
with fear, death, and disaster.
some made it away safe,
others were consumed,
by the evil that arose that day,.
the evil that we fear.

The evil that ruined many lives,
the evil that we fight.
the evil that we wished never came.
that evil should never have come.
