Fenway Park

Towering from high above
and shining brightly,
the light towers stand above us
like security guards, there for our protection.

The perfectly cut green grass
looks so beautiful from every angle.
Hopefully the outfielders will be
working hard enough to tear it up.

“Get your peanuts heaaaahhh,”
the vendors scream while selling
sodas, popcorn, ice cream (“spohts bahs”)
cracker jacks and Fenway Franks,

which are so excellent, they deserve their own stanza.
Each luscious bite into one of them
is instant Heaven on Earth.
Absolutely delectable.

Rowdy crowds fill the stands.
From life-long fans, to day-old infants,
we all share a common passion:
A love for the Red Sox.

Fenway Park will always have
a place in every Sox fan’s heart.
It serves as a central meeting place
for Sox fans around the world.

It is the one place in the world
that I truly fit in all the time.
It’s my favorite place on Earth
and there isn’t anywhere else I’d want
to watch my beloved Red Sox.

So here’s to Fenway Park,
proudly serving us for ninety-three years.

2004 Boston Red Sox.
World Champions, at last.
