Everything will turn out for the best

My eyes popped open for the morning was so bright!
Lighting up the day and lighting up the night!
Out in the garden, where all the flowers grew,
where the birds chirp and everything is new.
There in paradise, where all is blessed,
Everything will turn out for the best.

When night turns cold and light disappears
all my ghosts return and those are my fears.
Lies which I’ve uttered and truths never told.
When darkness sets in, these are the thoughts which hold.
But when the dark leaves and these feelings depart from my chest
I know, everything will turn out for the best.

The dawn is pretty, but it can not last
I wish it could but hope has passed
The night begins and the sun sinks beneath the bay
What has been given shall be taken away
But I know that once I have taken my rest
I shall wake, and everything will turn out for the best

One day passes, then a week goes by.
Before you know it, your life is buried in the sky
One by one the seconds go, never staying still
Like children running wildly they heed no one else’s will.
Time is a face on the water, life is a dangerous test.
Hopefully, everything will turn out for the best.

The light beams dance on the lake
I look around and hope that I will fail to make a mistake
She looks at me and I look at her, time stops.
Days go by and years come to an end.
I made a mistake and I can’t pretend.
For what has happened on that long lost day, I detest.
Will everything turn out for the best?
