150 Seconds of Freedom

I’m a mile high
Above the earth.

I can see for miles
Farther than all the birds.

The white bleached cloud
Seems right above my head.

I look down at my feet to see them dangling
Above the dots who are supposedly people.
My stomach is turning and my palms tingle
I feel the beads of sweat dripping from my face.

And suddenly I’m falling.
Falling faster than I ever have before.

I scream my lungs out
As machinery flings me all over the place.

I’m finally released from my death chair.
As I stagger away, knees shaking.

I fall to the ground in exhaustion and thanks.
But in no time I am back to my feet.

As the adrenaline escapes my body, I am overcome with relief.
And I immediately run to the end of the line.

A day at Six Flags New England.
This is what I live for.
